Create Pages without Post meta

Feature Request

I’d like the ability to create pages on my site that are not shown in the Post list/archive, and must be manually linked to with a menu Item. The page should show the note title and content only, not the post meta that is currently included in posts such as hero image, author, published date, etc.

it could work something like this:

Tag a note/post as a #Page, what should then happen is:

  • The Page does not appear in the post list/archive alongside other posts

  • The page does not include post meta (hero,author,date) design at the top, only the title and contents of the note.

  • The page should only appear in search or when manually linked to using a menu Item, it should not show in the home page or archive alongside blog posts.

if you view my website currently, you will see that i have various posts like About, Contact, Sponsor, etc set up in the menu. These currently appear as blog posts alongside my other posts. It would be nice if these could appear as pages without the post meta at the top and hidden from the list of posts.

    This sounds very similar to hidden posts

    https://docs.quotion.co/frontmatter/hide-posts (They’re only accessibile via links). If we can let your hide all author/hero image/published date/socia links manually with fronttermatters, does this fullfill your needs?

      That would be fine yes, but a simpler solution would be to just use a tag. And having the tag apply the hidden posts feature and also hide the header content (breadcrumbs, hero, author, date, etc). That way it could also make all pages pop up in search when typing #page into search in notes and on the site, and site owners would just need to use #page rather than multiple Frontmatter lines; a more user-friendly approach.

      But if frontmatter is the only way to do it, that will suffice.

      I’ve noticed now that when using the hidden posts frontmatter it also hides those posts from search. I would like pages to still be visible in search but not included in the main blog alongside other posts.

      I’m using hidden posts after finding it, and it’s pretty good for this, but would be nice if there was a separate ‘page’ concept that had some different behaviour. For me I’d like:

      • Still show in search

      • Sit outside of /post in the bread crumbs (and be able to nest pages possibly)

      • I have my posts to show the Published date, but for pages, I’d prefer to have the Updated date in the header.

      Personally I don’t mind the other header stuff being there for my immediate uses, but I can see it being really handy to turn those off for other uses in the future.
