Scheduled sending of Newsletters
It can be sent immediately as well as by date and time. For example, an article can be published and a newsletter sent out at a future “publishAt:” set in the article.

It would be great if this could be automated so a post (or all recent posts) goes out as a newsletter at a chosen date or time. I’d consider upgrading my plan if this were possible.
ideally there would be three options:
1) Automatically send each new post as a separate newsletter the moment it’s published.
2) Automatically send a weekly newsletter containing excerpts of all posts published that week.
3) Send posts or custom newsletters manually with the option to schedule a specific date/time for it to go out.

Hi David,
I think the automatic submission of 1) is a good idea. But as I talked to Qing, I think there is a risk if I apologize on the Apple notes side and note it in the Quotion folder. A mistake I often make myself.
2) automatic Weekly newsletter is a good idea. Sending it monthly or with a designated Tag is also good.
3) is already implemented.

Hey David, the scheduling newsletter feature is live in the dashboard.
https://docs.quotion.co/features/newsletter#scheduling-a-newsletter .
Currently, you can send a note as a newsletter by manually selecting it in the dashboard.
I have discussed the frontmatter method for sending newsletters with Hiro. It's error-prone and easy to make mistakes (e.g., when you edit the schedule date, our system reads it and sends it automatically without your awareness). Customers may become confused or even angry. Therefore, this frontmatter approach must be considered carefully. I have created a new backlog here:
https://quotion.featurebase.app/p/scheduling-newsletter-by-frontmatter .
>> Automatically send a weekly newsletter containing excerpts of all posts published that week.
I'm not sure if this meets most customers' needs. Sending these automatic newsletters should be done very carefully. You don't want to spam your users. This request feels similar to weekly emails (e.g., https://javascriptweekly.com/issues/736 ). I think the key to success for these newsletters is that the information must be valuable and timely.

Agree, scheduled newsletters are often needed. I’ll consider this in next iteration.

By the way, I think customers may want to choose a publication date visually on the dashboard. The "publishAt" frontmatter can be an alternative way to publish.

That can go either way, I agree with whichever is easier for Qing to implement. I thought “publishAt” would be a good way to align publication with sending the letter. This would allow me to post and send from my iPhone without having to access the dashboard.

Good feedback, I’ll implement it too.
